Hotel/Hostel Reservations at Atitlan - June 11-15

I'm arriving in Guatemala City on June 11 and heading straight to Atitlan to spend 4 days there before heading on to Xela to study Spanish for two weeks...

I know that Xela and Atitlan are popular destinations particularly during June-August.
I wasn't planning to make a reservation for a hotel or hostel room in Atitlan; I was just going to get a room once I arrived.
But I'm wondering whether everything will be sold out.

Does anyone recommend I make a reservation ahead of time for my 4 day stay in Atitlan (probably San Pedro) for June 11-15?

It is better to go for advance booking.

in San Pedro there are so many hotels that you well see many half built hotels

there are hotels with privet baths for 25Q you can go the best hotel in town for $15.00

you don't need to pre book.

i would skip going to the lake on this trip the roads get in are not open right now and they are going through hard times.

scrap the whole trip and donate the money to help the many now homeless family's in San Pedro.
